What is your favourite type of paranormal? Is it Vampires, Weres, Angels - Fallen or otherwise.
Why do you think the paranormal is such a big seller? What draws people to it. We would be very interested in your ideas and comments!!
I'm a fan of werewolves/shape shifters. I like the alpha quality of them and find them less ooo look at me I'm an immortal vampire rolling in money. Not that I don't love vampire books but I have a strong love for the werewolf books.
I feel like paranormal/supernatural/urban fantasy has always been strong but it's just become less taboo & more main stream. I remember watching Buffy and having to hide it from my father cause I knew he wouldn't approve. Where now it seems like every movie & major book has some sort of supernatural aspect, it's become more accepted and those that read them aren't pointed at and called a witch.
You've got to love the fantasy they bring and really, with vampire + human you can get some pretty angsty love stories out of 'em. You can go the hunter/slayer angle. I just love the crazy worlds they create and so often the females are strong characters. I don't want to read books where the female follows the guy like a lost puppy, I want strength & independence along with backbone, I feel like you get that a lot in the supernatural genre.
Mine is witches. I love magic and the thought of being able to use the elements is awesome.
