I must admit, I was sceptical when I picked up the book, I didn't think much of Hicks. But I have to admit, I have changed my opinion. The book is fantastic and I think he is a thoughtful and kind person who just wanted to help others. I have never been so moved reading a book before. I also can't understand the silence around his torture in the media. The criticisms of his book are uncalled for. Its well written, brutally honest, and overall a great read. I recommend everyone read it, especially those who have a negative opinion, and keep an open mind.
Great read- tear jerker, but really interesting and well written. Good luck to you David, you deserve all the happiness in the world. Sally of Adelaide :)
Ah excellent, keep the comments coming!! I'm glad you guys read it and formed your own opinons. We have sold quite a few, but have heard no feedback as yet.
I have almost finished. Found it an inspiring read, but it has made me very angry! Angry at the injustice of the whole thing. I hope everyone in Australia reads it, it should be part of the curriculum. John Crawford.
I have been trying to decide whether to read this one or not. After reading the above reviews, I think that I should definitely give Hicks' account of Guantanamo a chance.
